Ingredients:
– Garlic Chili Crunch (Si Jang) – 2 tbsp
– Sweet & Spicy Gochujang Chili Sauce (We Love You) – 3 tbsp
– Spring Onions (Flores Farms) – 1 bunch, finely chopped, white and green parts separated
– Thai Basil (Flores Farms) – 1 bunch, leaves picked and roughly chopped
– Hydro Bibb Lettuce (Sion House Farm) – 1 head, leaves separated and washed
– Plain Ground Pork (Firsthand Foods) – 1 lb
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
– Wash and separate the lettuce leaves, pat them dry, and set aside.
– Finely chop the spring onions, separating the white parts from the green parts.
– Pick the Thai basil leaves and roughly chop them.
2. Cook the Pork:
– Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a bit of oil if needed.
– Add the ground pork to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.
– When the pork is nearly cooked through (about 5-7 minutes), add the white parts of the spring onions and cook for another 1-2 minutes until they soften.
3. Add the Sauces:
– Add the 2 tbsp of Garlic Chili Crunch and 3 tbsp of Sweet & Spicy Gochujang Chili Sauce to the pork. Stir well to combine.
– Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. If the mixture looks too dry, you can add a splash of water or broth to loosen it up.
4. Assemble the Lettuce Wraps:
– Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped Thai basil and the green parts of the spring onions.
– Take a lettuce leaf and spoon a generous amount of the pork mixture into the center.
– Garnish with additional Thai basil and spring onions if desired.
5. Serve:
– Arrange the lettuce wraps on a serving platter and enjoy immediately. They can be served as an appetizer or a main dish.
Tips:
– Feel free to adjust the amount of Garlic Chili Crunch and Gochujang Chili Sauce based on your heat preference.
– You can add other vegetables like shredded carrots or bean sprouts for extra crunch and nutrition.
– Serve with lime wedges for a refreshing citrusy kick.
Enjoy your spicy pork lettuce wraps!
